Accessibility Statement
Parabank is the world's first digital bank by, with, and for people with disabilities. Accessibility here isn't a checklist item: it's the bank's reason for existing. This site was built following WCAG 2.2 level AA guidelines and is reviewed with automated testing (axe-core) and manual keyboard navigation, on mobile and desktop screens.
Level of conformance and adopted standards
We declare partial conformance with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partial means most of the site meets the standard and the known exceptions are listed below, with a correction plan underway.
- WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, W3C/WAI), level AA, as the main reference.
- Brazilian Law on Inclusion (Lei 13.146/2015), articles 63 and 74, and Decree 5.296/2004.
- eMAG (Brazilian e-Government Accessibility Model), as a complementary reference.
- ABNT NBR 17060 and NBR 17225, accessibility in digital content and applications.
Available features
- Full keyboard navigation, with a shortcut to skip straight to the content.
- Semantic structure with headings, lists, and named regions for screen readers.
- Minimum contrast of 4.5:1 in texts and interface components.
- Accessibility bar with text enlargement, high contrast, underlined links, and reduced animations.
- System preference for reduced motion respected automatically.
- Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels on buttons and links.
- Alternative descriptions on informative images and decorative icons hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
- The campaign film is hosted on YouTube. Captions depend on the track made available by the platform, and we're expanding caption and audio description coverage.
- Content on the group's partner sites, opened in a new tab, follows each partner's own accessibility guidelines.
- The Parabank app has its own accessibility development cycle and is not covered by this statement, which addresses the website.
